It's February. The middle of February. It's the time of the year I usually fall into what I call my "February Funk." You know, that time of year when you've been inside too much. The snow is the color of yuck. Kids are tired. Everyone has kind of lost their enthusiasm.
But I can honestly say this year that I haven't really reached the "Funk" yet. Good things are happening here at PAC. Thanks to our students the winter months has been flying by and I'm staying positive. I mean, it's almost March!
This realization came to me when I looked at the school calendar recently. Sectional Wrestling. District Wrestling. Girls Regional Basketball. Boys District Basketball. Drill Team Night. Soon, all our winter activities will be over. And when they are over, we are into spring! These teams have given us much entertainment over the last few months. Even on the coldest nights, it's fun to wrap up and head to a ballgame or wrestling meet to watch our kids. And they've had great seasons, so that makes it even better.
And then it's March. March Madness...yes there is basketball, but in our home there is also speech contests, mock trial, show choir festivals, Swing Show......the fine arts take over! It's great. And often the same kids that entertained us on the mats or gym floor are now entertaining us on the stage.
We at PAC have a lot to be proud of. The talent of the young people in this district amazes me. We will soon enter the season I like to call "Banquet Season." We kind of laugh about it and the kids go because it's the thing to do. But we really do honor them. They give this community so much. It is only right that we thank them back.
So thank you, PAC students. As you continue your seasons, good luck and have fun. Because really that's what all these activities are about.
